FAQ:

Q: Who can benefit from working with an Elder Care Manager?

A: Nearly anyone who is helping to care for an aging loved one can benefit from the support of an Elder Care Manager. If you’re finding it difficult to meet the needs of your parents, grandparents, neighbors, friends, or another loved one, a care manager can be an invaluable resource.

Managing frequent hospitalizations, coordinating medical appointments, overseeing dementia care, providing end-of-life support, preventing scams, or handling bills and daily responsibilities can quickly become overwhelming. An experienced care manager can step in to navigate both current challenges and unexpected situations—helping reduce your stress, bring peace of mind, and ensure your loved one receives the care they deserve.

Q: Does the client’s family need to be present while services are provided?

A: No. Many families of aging seniors live out of state or are busy caring for their own households, and that’s perfectly okay. Our care managers are fully equipped to oversee your loved one’s needs with compassion and professionalism, helping them maintain independence in their own home.

Family and friends are always welcome to be present during visits if they wish. For your peace of mind, we provide weekly updates through phone calls, emails, or your preferred method of communication—ensuring you stay informed every step of the way.

Q: When is the right time to engage CW Senior Support for healthcare Power of Attorney (POA) services?

A: The best time is now. Once a senior has been deemed incapacitated, they can no longer establish a Healthcare Power of Attorney, Living Will, Healthcare Surrogate, or other advance directives. At that point, the courts must be petitioned for guardianship—which may result in a state-appointed guardian if no family is available.

Industry standards recommend that all seniors put advance directives in place as soon as health issues arise—and ideally, well before they are unable to make their own decisions. Taking action early ensures that your wishes are honored and that trusted individuals can advocate on your behalf when needed.

Q: How much do CW Senior Support services cost?

A: Service costs vary depending on each individual’s needs. We offer a free 30-minute consultation to discuss your unique situation and determine the best approach. Services start at $165 per hour and are fully customizable. Clients are billed monthly, in advance, and all details are reviewed during the initial assessment to ensure clarity and transparency.

Q: Does insurance cover CW Senior Support services?

A: No. CW Senior Support is a private concierge service, so insurance cannot be used to cover costs. However, clients may be able to claim these expenses on their taxes, and an end-of-year statement is provided to make this process easier.

Q: Would my healthcare manager and POA be the same person?

A: Yes. When establishing a Power of Attorney (POA), CW Senior Support is named on all legal documents, with Esther serving as the primary agent. While Esther has a team that assists with administrative and non-clinical tasks, she personally oversees all care and clinical decisions. As the company grows, additional care managers may be added to better serve clients.

Q: Can CW Senior Support help me remain at home?

A: Yes. Safety is our top priority. If a senior wishes to stay in their own home, our elder care manager will assess their needs to ensure it is a safe and viable option. We also provide services in independent living, assisted living, or wherever a senior calls home, tailoring care to each individual’s situation.

Q: Are services available outside of business hours?

A: Yes! Once you become a client, your elder care manager is available by phone, text, or email during urgent situations. For medical emergencies, we always recommend contacting 911 immediately.

Q: Does CW Senior Support offer pet therapy?

A: Yes! CW Senior Support proudly offers pet therapy through Gizmo, a 5-pound Maltipoo and certified service dog. Gizmo brings comfort, joy, and emotional support to seniors during in-person visits, helping to reduce stress and anxiety while promoting overall well-being.

Q: Can CW Senior Support help with senior living placement?

A: Yes. We review cases and referrals to ensure there is no conflict of interest. If the individual is not currently under CW Senior Support case management or EverCare Guardian Services, we are happy to assist. Placement support is available for independent living, assisted living, memory care, long-term care, and Medicaid placement, helping families find the right fit for their loved one’s needs.
